EcoPaxia Consulting generated evidence on the socio-economic consequences of unequal WASH provision for marginalised populations, including rural communities, urban slum residents, ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, and women and girls. The design was mixed methods and phased, pairing primary data collection with secondary analysis of national demographic and health survey data. The team applied stratified purposive sampling of sixteen districts, conducted facility surveys at thirty-two schools and thirty-two health centres administered through KoboToolbox, ran sixteen focus group discussions disaggregated by gender, age and disability, and held key informant interviews with the relevant ministries, United Nations agencies, disability and women's networks, and district local governments.

Quantitative analysis in SPSS and Stata produced coverage rates, concentration indices and logistic regression, while thematic qualitative analysis surfaced the structural drivers of exclusion. The study equipped WaterAid with disaggregated, district-level evidence on who is being left behind and why, supporting targeted programming, equity-focused investment cases and advocacy with the Ministry of Water and Environment, the Ministry of Health and development partners.

EcoPaxia Consulting profiled forty-one organisations across eleven districts within a thirty-two day field-to-report window, using a structured resource mapping and assessment tool administered on mobile devices. The tool covered organisational mandate, human and financial capacity, technical assets, market linkages and engagement across eight agricultural enterprises spanning sesame, groundnuts, soybeans, cassava, green grams, poultry, apiary and aquaculture, alongside a capacity scorecard. The team complemented this with key informant interviews, a value chain analysis drawing on market price monitoring and trader interviews, and a coordination assessment of the platform's core group.

The final report documented a projected collective resource base of more than five hundred staff across the platform, and a six-criterion prioritisation matrix scored sesame and soybeans as the leading investment priorities. The firm developed all five data collection instruments, managed a four-person field team across dispersed sites, and delivered a seventy-nine page report with actionable recommendations grounded in primary data.

The firm conducted a comprehensive assessment of the water, sanitation and hygiene market across four districts to identify gaps and opportunities for sustainable, market-based development. The work analysed supply and demand chains, consumer preferences, financial barriers and the role of local service providers, and mapped WASH products and providers, affordability, consumer behaviour, and the barriers and motivators shaping uptake. The assessment produced evidence-based recommendations for WASH market models that empower communities and support long-term solutions in a demanding pastoral setting.

The firm supported a learning study examining how efforts to engage all market actors, including poor households, women, youth and ethnic minorities, translated into higher incomes at farmer level and improved livelihoods. The assessment focused on the inclusiveness and equity of agricultural market systems and the pathways through which market participation reaches marginalised groups, including an observation visit on agro-inputs under last mile distribution.

EcoPaxia Consulting delivered the district's first georeferenced, sub-county level picture of climate risk to support access to performance-based climate resilience grants and to mainstream adaptation into the district development plan. The five-phase, mixed-methods design combined climate science with participatory field evidence: analysis of historical records and downscaled climate projections, spatial multi-criteria analysis in a geographic information system to produce hazard, exposure, vulnerability and risk maps, more than forty key informant interviews, gender-disaggregated focus group discussions across the rural sub-counties, participatory hazard mapping with disaster risk committees, and cost-benefit screening of priority adaptation options.

The assessment identified drought hotspots and a priority river corridor for riparian protection, and produced a GIS database, a hazard and risk map series, prioritised adaptation options with indicative costs, and a policy brief. The findings now feed the District Climate Change Action Plan and the climate-mainstreaming workstream of the district development plan.

The firm is preparing a sub-county physical development plan and detailed plans for rural growth centres in compliance with national physical planning legislation and ministry standards. The approach combines accurate spatial data capture through GPS and total station survey, socio-economic analysis from household surveys and stakeholder engagement, environmental and climate-risk integration, and full participation at sub-county and district levels. The assignment includes structured on-the-job capacity building for district technical staff so that the district can manage and update the plan independently after handover, and aligns with national planning frameworks.
